Individual pay is determined on the basis of experience, performance and overall contribution. All employees are required to declare 100% of tips earned. Bartenders will provide friendly, responsive service that creates the opportunity to “make the day” of our guests (a positive attitude is a must). This is accomplished by maintaining a warm and dynamic smile, strong understanding of menu items, and an exceptional personality. In addition to guests within the bar section (including tables), responsibility falls on the employee to make all drinks requested through the well printer by servers. Keeping with the spirit of trying to make each guests day, bartenders should possess the ability to multi-task so that server guests receive their drinks in a timely fashion. Employees are required to wear a Mellow Mushroom shirt. Jeans, shorts, and skirts are allowed as long as they are of appropriate length and appearance (i.e. too short, or excessive holes). A clean appearance is mandatory, with long hair pulled back, or underneath a hat. A hat of an employee’s choice may be worn as long as it is guest appropriate. All alcohol variances must be documented and signed off on by the manager on duty and the bartender as in compliance with all TABC regulations and laws. Bartenders must possess the same mix of skills as a Server, but the best Bartenders also have a bit of “showmanship” that make the bar area its own form of entertainment. All check outs must be done to Mellow Mushroom standards and procedures. All credit cards must be entered correctly and given to the Manager on Duty in order of sequence on check out. A Manager’s walk through inspection for closing duties completion is mandatory before exiting the building. Must attend all scheduled meetings.
