Mellow Mushroom Decatur, Alabama, located in Historical Downtown, opened March 4, 2013!  Themed "Rolling on the River", this Mellow consists of everything Mellow Mushroom is known for - funky, eclectic artwork, great music, happy employees who greet you with a smile, and the wonderful selection of food found in all Mellows!  

Mellow Decatur features a Grateful Dead mural completed with fiber optics and giant lava lamps. 

Interior bricks for the walls were collected from the local landfill by the owners, their family and friends.  These bricks are from the former Decatur Utilities and the Robinson Building - both of which were torn down and bricks disposed of in the local city landfill.

Interior art features include a john boat chandelier, with disco balls and vintage swag light fixtures, the Wizard (an oversized wooden carved statue of a very popular Mellow Mushroom character), a mural of the Keller Memorial Bridge crossing the Tennessee River in Decatur, the back-lit wine and beer bottle wall, and very popular transparent album walls complete the 70's atmosphere!
