Mellow Mushroom Raleigh - The Story

A Glenwood South fixture, the store is a colorful and comfortable space for neighbors and friends to gather. A wooden statue of a Mellow character greets guests as they enter. Murals wrap the walls with peace signs, funky geometric shapes, and a spotlight of a Mellow Dude with glasses that spell “Dreamer.” A huge, partly covered patio offers a pleasant, shaded place for dining and enjoying the beautiful view of Glenwood South.

About Mellow Mushroom Raleigh

In the heart of Glenwood South District, the restaurant is centrally located near NC State, Meredith, Peace, and Shaw Universities and has been a favorite since 2002. Our guests come in regularly for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, a fun atmosphere, and a great time! We are proud to sponsor local schools, athletic teams, nonprofits, and community events.

Find parking around the store with additional parking available nights and weekends across the street at Peace Street Inspection Street. There are two spaces reserved for Take Out Orders. Come join us for magician performances and drink specials. Try your new favorite pizza at Mellow Mushroom!

This was a cool place. The food was unique and very good. We ordered a white pizza and a loaded potato pizza. Yes, potatoe on a pizza it was really good. Excellent recommendations from our very attentive waitress. The decor is 70's trippy vibe loved it!!! Dog friendly only on patio. Cocktails for any taste.

Really enjoyed a nice personal sized Pizza! They were very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the huge selection of tap beers and food choices. They were also great about the customization of your pizza! Great flavor, and I had to take a box to go even on the 10" pwrsinal pizza. Yummy!

It's one of the best pizza places in Raleigh. We thoroughly enjoy visiting the edge of downtown to eat lunch or dinner here. Nice atmosphere and staff. The mighty meaty is a great choice for carnivores.

The spinach artichoke dip was very good. The pizza is just what you expect from a chain restaurant. I prefer a local pizza joint. The Strawberry Shakedown was overpriced. $60.00 for 2 people.

Loved their pizza! We got a kids small cheese pizza and it was more than enough for 2 kids. Their meat pizza was delicious as well, lots of meat. They also had really good strawberry lemonade. Would definitely recommend!!! Very friendly staff and great service.
