Mellow Mushroom Pigeon Forge - The Story

Inspired by the Great Smoky Mountains, the restaurant has a log cabin feel with a dash of Dr. Seuss. The exterior of the building is made of cream stucco and natural stone. Bright, flowing artwork surrounds the entrance and several other parts of the building, adding bold pops of color. An octagon-shaped room has dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, and a retro mushroom sign sits out front. Inside, a Smoky Mountain mural stretches across one of the walls. Miniature mushroom figurines, tree-like sculptures covered in lights, cobblestone accents, and cartoon animals add to the outdoorsy feel of the space. One of the pillars has been hollowed out and seating has been added, providing a quirky dining experience for guests. A dramatic fireplace filled with lava lamps and adds a playful twist to the design.

About Mellow Mushroom Pigeon Forge

Located near OPRY and Wonderworks, we’ve been a local favorite since 2010. Guests come to us for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, a vibrant atmosphere, and a great time! We’re proud to sponsor local sports teams.

We love Mellow Mushroom! We don't have one where we live so anytime we can eat here we do! We got the supreme pizza and salads and they are so fresh and wonderful tasting! The crust is top notch and the sauce is perfect! The service was good and the restaurant is clean and unique! Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back to the area and eat here!

Great service and really good food. Gluten-free pizza was good. The regular pizza has amazing crust. Bartender was very kind and gladly let me try some new beer. Take out was well set up and easy to find. Would go again.

Very good pizza. Had the cheese bread and a buffalo chicken pizza. Both were really good. This was a HUGE pizza for a medium size. We also had 1 soda and 1free water. With tax our bill was just barely under $40. So maybe a little pricey for pizza for 2 people, but still quite good. We could only eat half, so it is enough for two meals if you are not a really big eater.

My son gives it 5 stars. Said it's the best MM he's had. And we've had a few. But he only eats cheese pizza. I thought the beer cheese here was way too thick and they couldn't get my free PB Coupon to work. While the pizza looked and tasted good, it was too light on the toppings....very little beef and the toppings weren't evenly distributed as you can see in my photo.

The pizza is average however what really carries this place is the other menu items the cheesy bread was good and the beer pretzels and the mushroom soup were some of the better I have tried. In addition the pricing is decent the staff is nice and the atmosphere is different it family friendly meets psychedelic. They should definitely open one up near the Baltimore area because the closest one is in Arlington VA it would definitely do well.
