Mellow Mushroom San Antonio - The Story

The restaurant has a South Texas-style, with lots of repurposed wood and local artwork. The exterior of the building is a mix of natural stone and stucco. A bright green Mellow sign hangs above the entrance, and a funky mushroom sculpture sits out front. Black awnings with mushroom artwork provide shade to the outdoor patio. Inside, exposed brick, string lights, and angular ceiling treatments create a dramatic look. A dream-like mural featuring a mushroom astronaut in a cowboy hat serves as a playful focal point. Part of the ceiling features wooden slats with circular holes cut out, accented with bright, multicolored lights. Colorful booths and a brightly tiled kitchen area add to the vibrant feel of the space.

I went to Mellow Mushroom few weeks ago with my family who came to visit me here in San Antonio. We decided to give this pizza place a try. And I have to say the pizza was very delicious and the management and staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. This is probably one of the best pizza places I've eaten here in the Alamo City. Both my family and I will be coming back again real soon.

This is literally the best pizza restaurant I have ever been to in Texas!!! My friend and I brought our dogs to the restaurant with us because they have outdoor patio seating, but it started to rain very bad and we were gonna take our food to go instead of eating at the restaurant. Our nice server was very friendly and helpful by inviting us to eat inside of the restaurant with our dogs. We were very surprised by the place letting us go inside to eat because we weren’t going to expect that is even allowed so we didn’t even ask. But the server and the other workers were super friendly and very caring. Not only the customer service was great the pizzas that we ordered were delicious! I will definitely come back when I go to San Antonio again!!!! Everyone must go there or at least go try this place when you go visit 😊

Ordered a dairy free cheese, jalapeno, spinach, and pepperoni pizza. Even though they forgot the pepperoni, the pizza was good. Shawn was a sweet server and offered us vegan ranch, which tasted like normal ranch. I am obsessed with how everything is mushroom themed. 10/10 coming here again. Ggez

Very friendly and clean. The food was so good. We ordered cheesy bread, medium mighty meaty pizza , cloud 9 wings, and 5 naked wings. Pizza was full of toppings. They did not hold back. Wings were baked perfectly. We will definitely be back.

The crust is super thick and a little doughy. Will try thin crust next time. Not the BEST pizza but the atmosphere was wonderful 👌
