Mellow Mushroom - Short Pump

Mellow Mushroom Short Pump - The Story
The design of the Mellow Mushroom in Green Gate Shipping Center in Henrico Virginia pays homage to the Jazz age of the Roaring Twenties and the speak easies made popular during Prohibition. From the vintage roadster parked at the entryway to an authentic moonshine still that sits immediately behind the host station the mood is set for a step back in time. Customers can choose between booths created from freight elevators or those created from whiskey barrels. The walls are decorated with murals depicting early 20th century Richmond and in the evenings look for a holographic projection slideshow illuminating the entrance area windows.
Much of the local art featured at the Mellow Mushroom in Henrico pays tribute to the entertainment community that Richmond was known for in the 1920’s including big stars like Billie Holiday and Django Reinhardt. The artists featured at this restaurant include Wayne Cain of Cain Architectural Art Glass, Mickael Broth, Ross Trimmer, Nicholas Daily and Dustin K.
