Mellow Mushroom Lynchburg and the Community Give Back to Local Horizon Behavioral Health Staff with BIG Pizza Delivery!
LYNCHBURG, VA, March 21, 2023 – On Wednesday, March 22, staff and volunteers at Horizon Behavioral Health will be the first beneficiaries of Mellow Mushroom’s recent “Pie for A Pie” community effort. On Pi Day (March 14), Lynchburg area residents heard the call and purchased pizzas in support of this initiative to support the healthcare community. Mellow Mushroom – Lynchburg will deliver pizzas to Horizon Behavioral Health staff at a special luncheon on March 22 at 11:30 a.m.
The pizza lunch will be delivered to Horizon Behavioral Health staff at its 999 Lakeview Drive location.
“This community has supported our Mellow Mushroom since we opened a few years ago and we feel it is important for us to give back to those who work so hard to keep us all healthy,” said local Mellow Mushroom store co-owner Brit Campbell. “We’re grateful to our neighbors for supporting us so we can support these important community members!”

Horizon Behavioral Health provides mental health, substance use and intellectual disability services in the City of Lynchburg, and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell. Horizon promotes the health, independence and self-worth of those living in Central Virginia by providing community-based treatment, prevention, early intervention and other services for those affected by mental health, intellectual disabilities, substance use and co-occurring disorders.
The Mellow Mushroom Lynchburg restaurant was named best pizza for the 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards by The News and Advance. The fan-favorite restaurant serving Lynchburg, Bedford, Campbell, Amherst, and surrounding areas also won third place in the Readers Choice Awards for Best Sports Bar.
The cornerstone of the Mellow Mushroom menu are stone-baked pizzas featuring a crust made from five simple ingredients, including water from Appalachian Mountain springs. Other menu highlights are freshly made salads, munchies, handcrafted cocktails, and a wide selection of beers, including many from local breweries.
