Guests entering Mellow Mushroom Birmingham are greeted by a Mellow Mushroom Wizard in blacksmith attire forging metals with the fire from a magnificent three-dimensional dragon. The fire imagery can be found throughout the restaurant. At the bar, a silhouette of Birmingham transforms into a magical mushroom land. In the dining area, the artwork pays tribute to Birmingham monuments in the city like the Sloss Tower and Magic City signage.

About Mellow Mushroom Birmingham

Located near the University of Alabama Birmingham in the heart of 5 Points South, the restaurant has been a favorite for locals and students since 2002. Our guests come in for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, a vibrant atmosphere, and a great time!

Loved it. I forgot to say no onions on my pizza but I'm glad I got them- they were perfectly caramelized and the pizza was absolute perfection! Waitress was super nice, place was overall very clean. Highly recommend stopping by here for a pie!

First time at Mellow Mushroom and had the weirdest pizza EVER! (ON PURPOSE). The Philosopher was a delicious mix of weird that I fell in love with. Hen, our waitress, made the family visit even better! Def doing a repeat.

Foid was great. Service was ok, but it was a young college student so maybe this is her first waitress job. Had the Merry Prankster pizza.

Loved the experience. The decor is funky fresh and the food is freaky fresh. The calzone I ordered came literally hanging off the sides of the plate, and was cooked to perfection. My vegan friends loved it too.
