Mellow Mushroom Washington DC – Adams Morgan - The Story
Inspired by the circus, the restaurant features classic styling mixed with lively artwork. The two-story brick building is nestled between other shops on 18th street. Guests can dine outside on the rooftop patio or at the tables in front of the restaurant. The interior features distinctive circus-inspired pieces, including a tightrope walker that hangs between floors. Exposed brick, dark green walls, and warm wood floors create a classic feel. A playful circus mural is painted on the brick against one wall, while another wall holds an art installation of maps. The stately bar area has wood accents, pendant lights, and gold ceiling tiles, while purple and yellow chairs add pops of color. The striped wood paneling is reminiscent of the stripes of a circus tent, and string lights add to the restaurant’s charming feel.
