Mellow Mushroom Downtown Atlanta - The Story

Our restaurant announces itself with two metal gates featuring our cartoon mascot, Mel, that lead to our large, pet friendly patio. Inside, our restaurant is designed in shades of red, yellow, and green, with floor to ceiling windows that give the restaurant an open feel and provides a warm natural light throughout our dining areas. The large mushroom sculptures suspended from the ceiling offer a whimsical touch to the restaurant.

About Mellow Mushroom Downtown Atlanta

Located in The Twelve Downtown building since 2008, we share our space with Gyro Brothers, Jimmy John’s, Pretty Girl Goods, Atlanta Limo Company, and others. Our restaurant is the place where visitors and residents of downtown Atlanta go to for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, and a great time. Parking is located in the visitor spots in the parking garage located on the corner of Ted Turner Dr NW and Ivan Allen Jr Blvd NW. Parking will be validated for the first hour.

We ordered the mushroom soup and salads. The soup was just barely warm. We sent it back and it came back warmer but not steaming hot like I would've preferred. It was very good soup, though. I also got the Greek salad and it was good. The staff was nice. They originally set our soups down on the wrong table and had to go remake them. The manager came and said that due to the soup "problems", he offered to comp our soups without me asking or complaining in any way. I would definitely go back and give it another try based on how nice, apologetic, and sincere they were to make things right. Be aware that this downtown location opens at 12:00pm on Saturdays, even though the website says 11:00am.

I came on a weekend, so I had a bit of a wait time, 35 minutes to be exact. But the Pizza and wings were great, so it was all worth it. Me and my daughter enjoyed ourselves

Nice location, conveniently next to the W hotel. I walked from the hotel to mellow mushroom within 1 minute! I had a carry out order and received great service during checking out. If you’re from out of town prepare for your card to decline at most places due to fraud protection. I decided to go with a build your own pizza and no complaints.

Anytime there is a Mellow Mushroom when we travel, we must visit! This location did not disappoint! The food was possibly the best we’ve ever had at a Mellow. We ordered the garlic cheese bread with pepperoni to start. Followed by a pepperoni pizza for my son and my husband and I shared a Cheesesteak and Pacific Rim Pizza. We chowed down and it was amazing! Our server, Cat was awesome and she really made our experience a ten! We had delicious food and the best time with her! Highly recommend you give this location a try! And I only rated it a 3 for atmosphere based on decor. It’s a great restaurant but I’ve just been to “cooler” decorated mellows. But seriously all in all it’s a 10 for me.
