Mellow Mushroom Lake Oconee - The Story

Inspired by nearby Lake Oconee, our restaurant features water-themed murals and a playful design. A large purple and orange mushroom sculpture greets guests as they enter, setting the tone for the rest of the interior, including the overhead mushroom characters fishing from their boat. A bold mural of famous musicians is painted above the bar, bringing a cool, laid back vibe to the space. The extended side patio includes awnings for lots of shade, keeping you cool even in the hot Georgia sun. And if you’d like some fresh air, we have an extended dog-friendly side patio with awnings for you and your furry friends.

Located near Rock Eagle, we’ve been a favorite for locals for more than 15 years. Has been a family go to for YEARS! Summer time and weekends can stay pretty busy but the staff is always doing their best to get everyone in and out! The menu has something for the whole family do no one leaves disappointed! Keep up the good work Oconee team! We got the new south side wings and they are SOOOOOO GOOD a must try and the pretzel bites with a spicy beer cheese! Yummmmm

Met a friend for a meal and drinks. We were sat quickly- they didn't appear busy; just before dinner rush. Tables in the dining room were cleaned and waiting for customers to arrive. First booth we were seated at was underneath a large air vent; after 2 minutes of the air blowing on us... we requested to move. Our server was extremely understanding and assisted us to another booth. We ordered the hummus as an appetizer; which was ok. Main meal: meatball trio - always a good choice. The meat was a nice texture, the red sauce had a nice flavor to it. I would have preferred mine served at a warmer temperature but no complaints here. Pretzels sprinkled with parmesan served with cheese and garlic butter dipping sauces - 3 nice sized soft pretzels - a fun meal alternative! One of their enlightened spinach salads was also on order and as always, a light addition to any meal or as a meal itself....always good if you like fresh spinach, pecans.-yum! Also ordered the red sangria...nicely adorned rims with orange and lime slices definitely hit the spot! We did ask for our server for water at some point during the meal. Bringing out an earlier water delivery is always a plus in my book. But it was brought out promptly when requested. The ladies room was clean and stocked - thank you! Towards the end of the meal you could tell things were picking up as the true Friday night dinner crowd started to arrive. Overall, the meal was really good, service was friendly and accommodating and we enjoyed our time spent there.

The Mellow Mushroom in Harmony Crossing is the best place to eat pizza in Lake Oconee, along with their salads, calzones, and wings. They also have a great-tasting gluten-free crust that even a regular gluten eater can enjoy. It was one of the first meals we ate when we first moved into the area 15 years ago, and it continues to be our favorite casual place to dine and bring our kids (and we have not tired of it). Their outdoor patio is a great place to sit and relax when the weather is perfect. They continually update the menu, so you will always have something new to try. The service is always friendly and prompt to meet your needs. Like everywhere around the lake, you may have to wait on weekends and during peak season but you can call ahead and pick up your order for carryout.
