Mellow Mushroom makes the best pizza in Asheville, North Carolina. Our colorful restaurant is located on Broadway Street, just two blocks north of the Vance Monument. Mellow is a favorite for the locals in Arden, Fletcher, Biltmore, and the surrounding areas. Mellow Mushroom stone-baked pizzas start with the classic Mellow crust, made with Appalachian spring water. Mellow Mushroom Asheville - The Story

Inspired by the property’s history as the first gas station in Asheville, the restaurant is packed with classic artwork. The antique brick building has a bright blue clay tile roof and a spacious patio. A massive mural, secret gnome door, and wisteria monster add to the playful feel of the space. The interior of the restaurant is bursting with old-school Mellow Mushroom art from the 70s along with newer pieces by local artists. The large bar area features a bright mural and plenty of seating. A giant hanging disco ball serves as a focal point, adding light and fun to the nostalgic space.

About Mellow Mushroom Asheville

Located near Biltmore House and A-B Tech, the restaurant has been a favorite for locals and students since 1998. Guests come in regularly for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, a vibrant atmosphere, and a great time! We’re proud to sponsor local sports teams and charity events.

We just went for a first time and absolutely loved it! We had a special on a large pizza and getting a free small one. They were very accommodating, also allowing us to use a gift card that was very old. We were nine people and they were able to seat us outside very quickly on a Sunday afternoon! The waitress was so nice and accommodating. She took several great photos from above of our family. Don’t forget to ask for one :-) you couldn’t have got the great angle above us with just a selfie!

Great environment and delicious pizza! Can’t go wrong with this spot. Nice area to sit outside and bring your furry friends with you as well. Good beer selection and the mushroom soup is actually a nice appetizer. Definitely consider splitting your pie into 2 varieties to try out a couple of their fun options!

Another delicious trip to Mellow Mushroom. We've never been to this one before and it did not disappoint. This one had more space inside that the ones I've been to in Blowing Rock and Boone. Lots of cool art and decor was all around. I loved the environment and the staff were great as well.

What more can you expect from pizza? The crust and base of their pizzas are genuinely fantastic… and combined with a great selection of beers, this place is perfect. We shared a medium Merry Prankster, with the spinach and artichoke dip, and it was all delicious. Our 3 year old happily chomped through the half pretzel with Parmesan. The only downside is we ate so much, we missed out on dessert - the brownie was looking amazing, but we had to miss out. Had the remaining pizza the next day (cold) for lunch, and it was still delish. 2 meals for 1!
