Mellow Mushroom Charlotte – Uptown - The Story

The restaurant is a playful mix of the Jetsons, beatniks, and 1950s housewives. Located on the bottom of a 27-story apartment building, the exterior of the restaurant features smooth concrete, metal details, and a bold Mellow Mushroom sign. Guests can dine on the spacious outdoor patio next to throwback movie posters hanging in the windows. The interior seamlessly blends multiple styles into one cohesive, colorful space. The bar area has bold orange seating and backsplash tiles, sketch-like artwork of rockets, and circular pendant lights. Massive circular fixtures hang overhead, illuminating the colorful booths.

About Mellow Mushroom Charlotte – Uptown

Located near Panthers Stadium and Johnson & Wales University – Charlotte, our restaurant has been beloved by locals and students since 2011. The BEST pizza in town!!! Our favorite is the House Special pizza, and kids love the Cheese pizza. Always fantastic service. Their special homemade Garlic Sauce is a must for pizza!

The pizza was great. The beer was either the bottom of the keg, or they just changed the keg and didn't flush the line. But they do have a good beer selection. Service was average. And they were not at all busy. Great location a block away from Truist Field entrance.

A group of 6 walked in to eat about an hour and a half before the game we were attending at BOA stadium. No wait time to be seated. Theresa was our server. Ordered two pizzas. The wait for food was about 40 minutes. Instead of the meat pizza, they brought out a pepperoni so they made the adjustment and the check and we got to eat in plenty time for the game. Total $45
