Mellow Mushroom Greenville NC - The Story

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland and books, the restaurant is filled with story-themed artwork and playful pops of color. The exterior of the building is made of colorful reclaimed wood that creates a contrasting pattern. Large windows span the length of the dining room and a spacious patio provides lots of room for outdoor dining. A pirate sculpture near the entrance celebrates the town’s East Carolina University spirit. The restaurant’s modern style has a bookish twist inside. A large bookcase flanks the entryway, and several sculptures made from recycled books hang from the vaulted ceiling. The walls are lined with paintings on retired book backs. Purple walls, metal accents, and clean lines add cohesiveness to the contemporary design.

About Mellow Mushroom Greenville NC

Located near Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and East Carolina University, we’ve been a favorite for locals and students since 2011. Guests come in for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, a vibrant atmosphere, and a great time! We’re proud to sponsor local sports teams and events.

Parking is available on the side of the building and in the lot we share with the Greenville Mall. Bring your furry friend to dine on our dog-friendly patio. Excellent pizza shop! The waiter with the purple hair was very sweet and accomodating to my dietary restrictions and helped me build a pizza I can eat. The manager came out to double check that they got the information correct so that I wasn't exposed to any of my allergens. Absolutely wonderful customer service. The space is decorated with cool found art.

My wife and I have eaten at multiple Mellow Mushrooms across the country. When we moved to the area in 2020, we were excited to go here for a date night and unfortunately... they struck out. However, we finally made our way back in and they did an outstanding job on our most recent visit. The pizza was cooked perfect and the bartender was amazing. He made the experience exceptional with his customer service and friendliness! We look forward to heading back soon!

Although this establishment has been in my “backyard” hometown, my first meal happened when I ate at the one in Atlanta, Ga. And now, the hometown establishment gets my business. I LOVE THE JERK WINGS!!!! The seasoning is everything. It’s a shame I had to travel to appreciate something that’s been in my hometown all this time!!! Whelp, just another reason to travel. The children can enjoy outdoor play as well.

The Buffalo chicken pizza is out of this world! So good! And the pretzel bites with beer cheese was amazing!! Definitely understand the hype for Mellow Mushroom! Will be ordering again and I highly recommend this place!

The customer service is awesome! Pizza is out of this world fresh and yummy! The crust is like no other I've ever had. I don't usually eat the outer crust on pizza, that was not the case this time lol. RB margarita is sooo delish! We will be back whenever we're in Greenville!
