Mellow Mushroom Denton - The Story

East meets west at this restaurant’s fun blend of eastern influence art and good ole Texas funk. The bar is painted red with a chandelier hanging from the center and bright blue high-top chairs. Eastern influence architecture can be found throughout the restaurant. The artwork plays off pop culture and pizza references. The store is in a historic brick building with a large green awning under the Mellow sign out front.

About Mellow Mushroom Denton

Located near the historic downtown Denton square, the restaurant has been a favorite since 2012. Our guests come in regularly for the very best pizza, cold beer, craft cocktails, a fun atmosphere, and a great time! We are proud to sponsor local schools, sports teams, and community events.

Great pizza, strongly recommend the holy shiitake pizza. Honestly, this location didn't seem as heavily "themed" as some other mellow mushrooms I've been to, but I can't take any stars off because it was an absolutely solid time nevertheless - some of the best pizza I've had with genuinely creative but tasty combinations on the menu. They have a bar too so check out the cocktail menu. Server was super chill & polite. P.S. there was, just, like, a cat outside. I don't know if thats a local cat that just happened to be around or if it's the owners or something, but the cat had a collar and seemed friendly enough.

Great food and great staff. I enjoy sitting at the bar after work. Byron ensures our cups are never empty. I highly recommend having the artichoke spinach dip!!

Cool atmosphere.. a mix of Hippie/Bohemian with good music thrown in. Food was delish and waitstaff, Alyssa was very pleasant and attentive - even though she was way overworked.

Honestly no complaints. The denton vibe on its own is almost a nice change of pace. Mello Mushroom stands out more because of this. Great pizza, drinks, and service. Music fits the vibe perfectly as well. We will be back to try more drinks soon
